Fur-For-All is now closed. [Edit: Chat Channel Still Open - Scroll Down]

To all of our supportive members, I wish you luck and thank you for the privilege of working with you. I apologize that the services Fur-For-All could not be continued into the future, but as it currently is, I am leaving deviantART and there is nobody else to maintain it. What Will Happen to FFA?
FFA will remain up, as it is. No further updates will be made, however you will still be able to use the FFA directory or gallery to find artists as were their original intents. No more submissions will be accepted, and the currently waiting submissions may or may not be added to the showcase. If not, I apologize, but it is simply because it is impractical to do so. I will attempt to update the memberlist a final time before leaving.

Will FFA Return?
If deviantART makes some significant changes to their system and policy, yes, it is entirely possible that FFA will return in due time. While I have my doubts about the likelihood of this scenario, I encourage each of you to continue watching our account, so that if activity begins anew, you will know.

It cannot hurt to continue watching FFA or showing your membership. In fact, I encourage this, as it helps to make the system we set in place continue to work. What you do beyond this point, however, is entirely up to you.

In the event that FFA is revived, the Active Member list will be culled, but all members will be retained – nobody will lose their existing membership or showcase items. If you want your membership or a submission of yours removed, please see my page for contact information.

I have stayed at deviantART long enough… For FFA, I have stayed. I cannot stay any longer. I am sorry. Good Luck and Godspeed.

FurAffinity.net lives again, and may offer some of you an alternate community if you're looking for somewhere else to go in place of FFA (like dA, but for mostly Animal/Anthro art and with a more liberal policy), or you may try one of our affiliate communities here on dA, listed at the bottom of this page.

Fur-For-All is a group with the goal of providing a place for all of the animal artists, anthro artists, artists of related genres/subgenres, and fans of these genres to gather in a relatively close community that would be otherwise impossible to acheive on deviantART. We also hope to serve as dA's most comprehensive anthro/furry/related artist directory. If you have been watched by Fur-For-All, you are already in this directory, and will be added to the list as soon as a FFA operator is able to do so. If you do not wish to be listed and have been, note us and we will remove you as promptly as possible. There is no obligation to joining Fur-For-All! You needn't watch us, submit anything through us, list us, do anything. Simply notify us that you would like to join, and you will be listed in our directory, easy as that!


Contest Votes Counted - Tiebreaker needed!
The FFA deviantID and icon contest votes have been counted, and a winner for the deviantID contest decided. FFA is currently awaiting the final word from the ID contest winner to post their entry as our new ID. Complications have interrupted the icon contest however, and the winning entry was disqualified due to its being absent from dA, as well as unsupplied permission for its reuse from the original artists. The two runners up (=LastMorbidRose & *CaptainCougar) are currently tied at 15 votes each, and a tiebreaker is needed. If you have not yet voted, please proceed to the polls [Here], and cast your vote for one of these two entries or the closely trailing entry by ~shani-hyena.

FFA Subscription!
FFA would like to thank our first Benefactor, =purplelemon, for purchasing us a 3-month subscription. We are now able to commence polling for contests, begin new member services, and plan for many more! Our new shoutboard will display a list of all FFA Benefactors, along with the current staff, who have donated their time to keeping FFA in operation. You will notice that in addition to the shoutboard, we now have a shoutbox, polls, a calendar and forum.


New Service - FFA Forum!
Thanks to our new subscription, Fur-For-All is able to provide our members with a communal forum. Members who wish to discuss art, or request critiques or advice from other members are free to use the forum. Please Keep it Clean, and DO NOT Abuse this resource, or we will be forced to disable it. Active Member List Culling
As planned, our active memberlist today underwent a thorough culling. All members who did not meet the current criteria of both an FFA icon in their journals and a link in their signatures were moved from the Active Member list into the general directory. If you are one of these members, and would wish to continue your Active Member status at FFA, please review the guidelines as posted in our [Joining Fur-For-All] FAQ, and note us once you again meet these guidelines.


The To-Do List [UPDATE]
FFA has a lot to do in order to get this group running properly once more. We hope to achieve the following things in the near future, though not necessarily in exact order:
1) Fix the Journal entries and memberlist - [COMPLETED]
2) Get the new operators interviewed, trained and integrated [WIP]
3) Update our showcase with the score or so of pending submissions [WIP]
4) re-instate the Fur-For-All community chatroom... - [COMPLETED]
5) Convert old submission titles to new... - [COMPLETED]
6) Get a dA subscription for the group - [COMPLETED]
7) Conclude the deviantID and avatar contests [WIP]
8) Implement a new strategy for exposing our members (weekly highlights + thumbs)
9) Begin deviantART community projects (forum, dAmn, etc..) [WIP]
10) Cull Active Member list... - [COMPLETED]

Please have patience as we try to implement thee changes as smoothly as possible. Be aware that it could take a significant amount of time to see them through. Thank you for your cooperation and support.


Future Plans
At FFA we hope to make more services available to our members in the future, including a weekly thumbnail journal highlighting different FFA artists. dAmn chat may also be available at some point, though our Furnet IRC channel will remain our community chatroom for the foreseeable future.


Submissions (still) in Progress
We are in the process of updating our showcase. We apologize for submission flooding as our old submissions were updated with a title change in the process to allow for easier management and help eliminate accidental posting of multiple submissions.

I would like to publicly thank our newest operator, ~senitel for helping with this daunting task. Due to a greater influx of still pending submissions, there is still an unknown delay for the posting of new works to our showcase. Please have patience as we attend to them. Currently, there are approximately 30 new submissions still pending - a number I hope to reduce some tonight.


Support, Support, Support
FFA needs supporting members willing to donate their time and resources to keeping this community running and up-to-date. We currently could use an extra hand in managing our showcase. In the future, we will likely also need someone with good writing skills to prepare a weekly art feature report. Still More Changes of Staff
FFA has recently taken on more staff members. Our newest operator is ~senitel, and has already taken on the roll of getting our submissions taken care of. We still have more staff on the way, whom will help with the operation of Fur-For-All once they have been trained and integrated. Please have patience with our new operators, as they adapt to FFA's SOP and learn how to best service you.

Thank you to all whom have volunteered to help, and thank you also to the rest of you, for your patience in this matter.


FFA Chatroom Returns!
For those who remember, FFA at one point had an official chatroom on IRC. The chatroom is now officially back, thanks to our chat operator, =dimruthien, who not only volunteered to run it, but insisted it be kept around. If you visit the room, be sure to thank her.

The chatroom is hosted on IRC's [Furnet.org] network. For those familiar with it, the channel name is #FFA. For those unfamiliar with it, look below for instructions on how to access it.

Accessing the Room:
To access FFA's chatroom, you will need an IRC client. There are several IRC clients available, but the recommended one is [mIRC]. Firefox users may also appreciate the simplified [Chatzilla extension], which allows IRC access from firefox.
After you have a client, you need to connect (/attach) to the furnet network. The network is irc:// irc. furnet. org and it uses port 6667. Once connected, you can join the FFA chatroom by typing "/join #FFA" (without quotes)
